Background:

Jonathan Peters, born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina, graduated with high honors from North Carolina State University with a BS in Chemical Engineering. His work in the Velev research group focused on development of novel techniques for the synthesis of nano-scale biopolymer structures. He continues research into nano-scale structures with his current investigation into externally triggered theranostic carriers for chemotherapeutics. Jonathan is currently persuing a PhD in Chemical Engineering under the tutelage of Dr. Nicholas Peppas at the University of Texas at Austin.
